Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Gneffin Limited handles personal information in the Compoose app, on https://compoose.com, and when you contact support. Gneffin Limited is responsible for personal information it receives directly.

Compoose stores your work on your Mac. You can write, organize, record, transcribe, and use AI features without your documents being sent to Gneffin.

When iCloud Sync is enabled, your projects, sheets, and images are also stored in your private iCloud account so you can use them across your Macs. Gneffin cannot access this private library. Apple handles iCloud data under your Apple account and Apple's terms.

Recording, transcription, speaker recognition, and AI writing happen on your Mac. AI features download the components they need during setup. Your documents are not used to train the AI.

Original recordings and downloaded AI components stay on your Mac and do not sync through Compoose. Saved transcripts and summaries become part of your sheets and can sync when iCloud Sync is enabled.

The website is hosted by Vercel. When you visit, Vercel may automatically process your IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, referring page, approximate location, and request timestamps in server logs. This information is used to deliver and secure the website, prevent abuse, and diagnose technical problems.

Compoose does not use advertising cookies, behavioural analytics, or cross-site tracking. Website fonts are delivered with the site rather than requested from Google. The website may display or link to Apple resources; Apple handles information received through those requests under its own privacy policy.

If you email us, we receive the address you use, your message, and any files or diagnostic details you choose to include. We use that information to answer your request, investigate problems, protect Compoose, and meet legal obligations. Do not send documents, recordings, passwords, account credentials, or other sensitive material unless we specifically ask for it and you choose to provide it.

Compoose does not automatically send your documents, recordings, transcripts, AI prompts, or diagnostic reports to Gneffin. macOS may separately offer to send crash information to Apple according to your system settings.

We process the limited information described above to provide and secure the website, respond to support and privacy requests, improve reliability, prevent misuse, and comply with law. Where privacy law requires a legal basis, we rely on providing requested services, our legitimate interests in operating and securing Compoose, your consent where requested, and compliance with legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information. Limited information may be processed by providers that host the website, deliver email, or help us keep the service secure. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or in connection with a business reorganization where appropriate safeguards apply.

Apple independently handles App Store, iCloud, and optional macOS crash-report information under your Apple account and Apple's policies. Gneffin does not receive your private iCloud library.

Your Compoose work remains on your Mac and, if enabled, in your private iCloud account until you delete it or remove the relevant local or iCloud data. Gneffin cannot delete content it cannot access.

Website logs and support correspondence are kept only for as long as reasonably needed for security, troubleshooting, responding to you, record-keeping, and legal obligations. Retention depends on the nature of the request, provider settings, and whether information is needed to resolve a dispute or protect the service. We delete or anonymize information when it is no longer needed.

Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use providers and arrangements intended to protect information during international processing.

We use reasonable organizational and technical measures to protect information we receive. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or a copy of personal information we hold about you, and to object to certain processing or withdraw consent. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. You may also complain to the privacy or data-protection authority where you live.

The website and support service are not designed to collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

We will publish policy changes on this page with a revised date. Please review it when you update Compoose or have a privacy question.
